US Highway 51/Interstate 39 is the main artery to Wisconsin’s “Up Nort'”. Especially in the summer you’re going to see loads of traffic up from Illinois, cars towing fishing boats and campers. It’s a long drive, so why not stop for a brewery tour along the way?
Since the opening of its new expanded brewery facility, O’so Brewing fits the bill: good beer you can carry north with you and a pleasant tap room with big windows looking into the heart of the operation. O’so moved to this new-build facility in November 2011, and it’s location, just a couple minutes from the I-39 juncture with County B in Plover, means a quick on-and-off: stop for gas, tour a brewery, gather some beer for your next destination.
The tap room is roomy and there are 40 beers on tap including the full O’so lineup plus a few rare finds from them plus a number of Wisconsin-only guest brewery taps. You can’t go wrong with the selection. Homebrewers will want to check out O’so’s brew supply store next door as well.
O’so Brewery is open Mon-Fri 3-9pm, Sat 12-9pm and closed on Sunday. If you want a tour, go on Saturday at 2, 3 and 4pm. There’s a $2 donation for the tour which goes to a different charity every month.
